# 494

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ ٱتَّقُوا۟ رَبَّكُمُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُم مِّن نَّفْسٍۢ وَٰحِدَةٍۢ وَخَلَقَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا وَبَثَّ مِنْهُمَا رِجَالًۭا كَثِيرًۭا وَنِسَآءًۭ ۚ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِى تَسَآءَلُونَ بِهِۦ وَٱلْأَرْحَامَ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلَيْكُمْ رَقِيبًۭا

Juzz (4): Surah (4): Ayah (1)

Yaaa aiyuhan naasut taqoo Rabbakumul lazee khalaqakum min nafsinw waahidatinw wa khalaqa minhaa zawjahaa wa bas sa minhumaa rijaalan kaseeranw wa nisaaa'aa; wattaqul laahallazee tasaaa 'aloona bihee wal arhaam; innal laaha kaana 'alaikum Raqeeba

या ैयहां नासूत ताकू रब्बाकुमुल लज़ी कहलकाकुम मं नफ़सिनु वाहिदातिनु व ख़लाक़ा मिन्हा ज़ौजाहा व बस सा मिन्हुमा रिजालं कसीरानव व निसा'आ; वट्टाकुल लाहल्लाजी तसा 'अलूना बिही वाल अरहाम; इन्नल लाहा काना 'अलैकुम रक़ीबा

Translation

O MANKIND! Be conscious of your Sustainer, who has created you out of one living entity, and out of it created its mate, and out of the two spread abroad a multitude of men and women. And remain conscious of God, in whose name you demand [your rights] from one another, and of these ties of kinship. Verily, God is ever watchful over you!

ऐ लोगों अपने पालने वाले से डरो जिसने तुम सबको (सिर्फ) एक शख्स से पैदा किया और (वह इस तरह कि पहले) उनकी बाकी मिट्टी से उनकी बीवी (हव्वा) को पैदा किया और (सिर्फ़) उन्हीं दो (मियॉ बीवी) से बहुत से मर्द और औरतें दुनिया में फैला दिये और उस ख़ुदा से डरो जिसके वसीले से आपस में एक दूसरे से सवाल करते हो और क़तए रहम से भी डरो बेशक ख़ुदा तुम्हारी देखभाल करने वाला है

# 495

وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰٓ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ ۖ وَلَا تَتَبَدَّلُوا۟ ٱلْخَبِيثَ بِٱلطَّيِّبِ ۖ وَلَا تَأْكُلُوٓا۟ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ إِلَىٰٓ أَمْوَٰلِكُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ حُوبًۭا كَبِيرًۭا

Juzz (4): Surah (4): Ayah (2)

Wa aatul yataamaaa amwaalahum wa laa tatabad dalul khabeesa bittaiyibi wa laa taakulooo amwaalahum ilaaa amwaalikum; innahoo kaana hooban kabeeraa

व अतुल यतामा अमवालाहूम व ला तातबड डालूल ख़बीसा बित्तैईबी व ला ताकुलु अमवालाहूम िला अमवालीकुम; इन्नहू काना हूबन कबीरा

Translation

Hence, render unto the orphans their posses­sions, and do not substitute bad things [of your own] for the good things [that belong to them], and do not consume their possessions together with your own: this, verily, is a great crime.

और यतीमों को उनके माल दे दो और बुरी चीज़ (माले हराम) को भली चीज़ (माले हलाल) के बदले में न लो और उनके माल अपने मालों में मिलाकर न चख जाओ क्योंकि ये बहुत बड़ा गुनाह है

# 496

وَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَلَّا تُقْسِطُوا۟ فِى ٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ فَٱنكِحُوا۟ مَا طَابَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ مَثْنَىٰ وَثُلَٰثَ وَرُبَٰعَ ۖ فَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَلَّا تَعْدِلُوا۟ فَوَٰحِدَةً أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُكُمْ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ أَدْنَىٰٓ أَلَّا تَعُولُوا۟

Juzz (4): Surah (4): Ayah (3)

Wa in khiftum allaa tuqsitoo fil yataamaa fankihoo maa taaba lakum minan nisaaa'i masnaa wa sulaasa wa rubaa'a fa'in khiftum allaa ta'diloo fawaahidatan aw maa malakat aimaanukum; zaalika adnaaa allaa ta'ooloo

व इन ख़िफ्टम अल्ला टुकसिटू फील यतामा फँकिहू माँ तांबा लकुम मीनन निसा'ी मासना व सुलासा व रुबा'ा फ'इन ख़िफ्टम अल्ला ता'दिलू फवाहिदतन ाव माँ मलकट ैमानुकूम; ज़ालिका अदना अल्ला ता'ूलू

Translation

And if you have reason to fear that you might not act equitably towards orphans, then marry from among [other] women such as are lawful to you - [even] two, or three, or four: but if you have reason to fear that you might not be able to treat them with equal fairness, then [only] one - or [from among] those whom you rightfully possess. This will make it more likely that you will not deviate from the right course.

और अगर तुमको अन्देशा हो कि (निकाह करके) तुम यतीम लड़कियों (की रखरखाव) में इन्साफ न कर सकोगे तो और औरतों में अपनी मर्ज़ी के मवाफ़िक दो दो और तीन तीन और चार चार निकाह करो (फिर अगर तुम्हें इसका) अन्देशा हो कि (मुततइद) बीवियों में (भी) इन्साफ न कर सकोगे तो एक ही पर इक्तेफ़ा करो या जो (लोंडी) तुम्हारी ज़र ख़रीद हो (उसी पर क़नाअत करो) ये तदबीर बेइन्साफ़ी न करने की बहुत क़रीने क़यास है

# 497

وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلنِّسَآءَ صَدُقَٰتِهِنَّ نِحْلَةًۭ ۚ فَإِن طِبْنَ لَكُمْ عَن شَىْءٍۢ مِّنْهُ نَفْسًۭا فَكُلُوهُ هَنِيٓـًۭٔا مَّرِيٓـًۭٔا

Juzz (4): Surah (4): Ayah (4)

Wa aatun nisaaa'a sadu qaatihinna nihlah; fa in tibna lakum 'an shai'im minhu nafsan fakuloohu hanee'am mareee'aa

व ातून निसा'ा साडू क़ातिहींना निहलाह; फ इन तिब्ना लकुम 'ान शै'आईएम मिनहु नफ़सान फकूलूहू हनी'ऍम मारी'आ

Translation

And give unto women their marriage portions in the spirit of a gift; but if they, of their own accord, give up unto you aught thereof, then enjoy it with pleasure and good cheer.

और औरतों को उनके महर ख़ुशी ख़ुशी दे डालो फिर अगर वह ख़ुशी ख़ुशी तुम्हें कुछ छोड़ दे तो शौक़ से नौशे जान खाओ पियो

# 498

وَلَا تُؤْتُوا۟ ٱلسُّفَهَآءَ أَمْوَٰلَكُمُ ٱلَّتِى جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ قِيَٰمًۭا وَٱرْزُقُوهُمْ فِيهَا وَٱكْسُوهُمْ وَقُولُوا۟ لَهُمْ قَوْلًۭا مَّعْرُوفًۭا

Juzz (4): Surah (4): Ayah (5)

Wa laa tu'tus sufahaaa'a amwaalakumul latee ja'alal laahu lakum qiyaamanw-warzuqoohum feehaa waksoohum wa qooloo lahum qawlam ma'roofaa

व ला तू'तुस सुफहा'ा अमवालाकुमुल लाती जा'ालाल लाहु लकुम क़ियामानव-आरज़ुकोहुम फ़ीहा वकसूहं व क़ुलू लहुं कॉलम माँ'रूफा

Translation

And do not entrust to those who are weak of judgment the possessions which God has placed in your charge for [their] support; but let them have their sustenance therefrom, and clothe them, and speak unto them in a kindly way.

और अपने वह माल जिनपर ख़ुदा ने तुम्हारी गुज़र न क़रार दी है बेवकूफ़ों (ना समझ यतीम) को न दे बैठो हॉ उसमें से उन्हें खिलाओ और उनको पहनाओ (तो मज़ाएक़ा नहीं) और उनसे (शौक़ से) अच्छी तरह बात करो

# 499

وَٱبْتَلُوا۟ ٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا بَلَغُوا۟ ٱلنِّكَاحَ فَإِنْ ءَانَسْتُم مِّنْهُمْ رُشْدًۭا فَٱدْفَعُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِمْ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ ۖ وَلَا تَأْكُلُوهَآ إِسْرَافًۭا وَبِدَارًا أَن يَكْبَرُوا۟ ۚ وَمَن كَانَ غَنِيًّۭا فَلْيَسْتَعْفِفْ ۖ وَمَن كَانَ فَقِيرًۭا فَلْيَأْكُلْ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ ۚ فَإِذَا دَفَعْتُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ فَأَشْهِدُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ حَسِيبًۭا

Juzz (4): Surah (4): Ayah (6)

Wabtalul yataamaa hattaaa izaa balaghun nikaaha fa in aanastum minhum rushdan fad fa'ooo ilaihim amwaalahum wa laa taa kuloohaaa israafanw wa bidaaran ai yakbaroo; wa mai kaana ghaniyyan falyasta' fif wa mai kaana faqeeran falyaakul bilma'roof; fa izaa dafa'tum ilaihim amwaalahum fa'ashhidoo 'alaihim; wa kafaa billaahi Haseeba

वाबतलयल यतामा हत्ता िज़ा बलघून निकाह फ इन ानस्तुम मिन्हुम ृषदान फाड् फ'ोू इलैहिम अमवालाहूम व ला टा कूलूहा इसराफव व बिदारन ै यकबरू; व मई काना घनिययं फलयासता' फ़ीफ़ व मई काना फकीरण फल्याकुल बिलमा'रूफ; फ िज़ा दफा'तुम इलैहिम अमवालाहूम फ'ाशहीदू 'अलैहिम; व काफा बिल्लाहि हसीबा

Translation

And test the orphans [in your charge] until they reach a marriage­able age; then, if you find them to be mature of mind, hand over to them their possessions; and do not consume them by wasteful spending, and in haste, ere they grow up. And let him who is rich abstain entirely [from his ward's property]; and let him who is poor partake thereof in a fair manner. And when you hand over to them their possessions, let there be witnesses on their behalf - although none can take count as God does.

और यतीमों को कारोबार में लगाए रहो यहॉ तक के ब्याहने के क़ाबिल हों फिर उस वक्त तुम उन्हे (एक महीने का ख़र्च) उनके हाथ से कराके अगर होशियार पाओ तो उनका माल उनके हवाले कर दो और (ख़बरदार) ऐसा न करना कि इस ख़ौफ़ से कि कहीं ये बड़े हो जाएंगे फ़ुज़ूल ख़र्ची करके झटपट उनका माल चट कर जाओ और जो (जो वली या सरपरस्त) दौलतमन्द हो तो वह (माले यतीम अपने ख़र्च में लाने से) बचता रहे और (हॉ) जो मोहताज हो वह अलबत्ता (वाजिबी) दस्तूर के मुताबिक़ खा सकता है पस जब उनके माल उनके हवाले करने लगो तो लोगों को उनका गवाह बना लो और (यूं तो) हिसाब लेने को ख़ुदा काफ़ी ही है

# 500

لِّلرِّجَالِ نَصِيبٌۭ مِّمَّا تَرَكَ ٱلْوَٰلِدَانِ وَٱلْأَقْرَبُونَ وَلِلنِّسَآءِ نَصِيبٌۭ مِّمَّا تَرَكَ ٱلْوَٰلِدَانِ وَٱلْأَقْرَبُونَ مِمَّا قَلَّ مِنْهُ أَوْ كَثُرَ ۚ نَصِيبًۭا مَّفْرُوضًۭا

Juzz (4): Surah (4): Ayah (7)

Lirrijaali naseebum mimmaa tarakal waalidaani wal aqraboona wa lin nisaaa'i naseebum mimmaa tarakal waalidaani wal aqraboona mimmaa qalla minhu aw kasur; naseebam mafroodaa

लिररिजाली नसीबम मिम्मा तरकाल वलिदानी वाल अक़रबुना व लीन निसा'ी नसीबम मिम्मा तरकाल वलिदानी वाल अक़रबुना मिम्मा कल्ला मिनहु ाव कसूर; नसीबम मफरूदा

Translation

MEN SHALL have a share in what parents and kinsfolk leave behind, and women shall have a share in what parents and kinsfolk leave behind, whether it be little or much - a share ordained [by God].

मॉ बाप और क़राबतदारों के तर्के में कुछ हिस्सा ख़ास मर्दों का है और उसी तरह माँ बाब और क़राबतदारो के तरके में कुछ हिस्सा ख़ास औरतों का भी है ख्वाह तर्क कम हो या ज्यादा (हर शख्स का) हिस्सा (हमारी तरफ़ से) मुक़र्रर किया हुआ है

# 501

وَإِذَا حَضَرَ ٱلْقِسْمَةَ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينُ فَٱرْزُقُوهُم مِّنْهُ وَقُولُوا۟ لَهُمْ قَوْلًۭا مَّعْرُوفًۭا

Juzz (4): Surah (4): Ayah (8)

Wa izaa hadaral qismata ulul qurbaa walyataamaa walmasaakeenu farzuqoohum minhu wa qooloo lahum qawlam ma'roofaa

व िज़ा हदराल क़िस्मत उलूल क़ुर्बा वलयतामा वालमसाकिनु फरज़ुकूहूम मिनहु व क़ुलू लहुं कॉलम माँ'रूफा

Translation

And when [other] near of kin and orphans and needy persons are present at the distribution [of inheritance], give them something thereof for their sustenance, and speak unto them in a kindly way.

और जब (तर्क की) तक़सीम के वक्त (वह) क़राबतदार (जिनका कोई हिस्सा नहीं) और यतीम बच्चे और मोहताज लोग आ जाएं तो उन्हे भी कुछ उसमें से दे दो और उसे अच्छी तरह (उनवाने शाइस्ता से) बात करो

# 502

وَلْيَخْشَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَوْ تَرَكُوا۟ مِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّةًۭ ضِعَٰفًا خَافُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ فَلْيَتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلْيَقُولُوا۟ قَوْلًۭا سَدِيدًا

Juzz (4): Surah (4): Ayah (9)

Walyakhshal lazeena law tarakoo min khalfihim zurriyyatan di'aafan khaafoo 'alaihim falyattaqul laaha walyaqooloo qawlan sadeedaa

वालयखशल लज़ीना लॉ टरकू मं खाल्फहीम ज़ुर्रिययतन दी'ाफन खाफु 'अलैहिम फल्याटाकुल लाहा वलयकूलू कौलं सदीदा

Translation

And let them stand in awe [of God], those [legal heirs] - who, if they [themselves] had to leave behind weak offspring, would feel fear on their account - and let them remain conscious of God, and let them speak [to the poor] in a just manner.

और उन लोगों को डरना (और ख्याल करना चाहिये) कि अगर वह लोग ख़ुद अपने बाद (नन्हे नन्हे) नातवॉ बच्चे छोड़ जाते तो उन पर (किस क़दर) तरस आता पस उनको (ग़रीब बच्चों पर सख्ती करने में) ख़ुदा से डरना चाहिये और उनसे सीधी तरह बात करना चाहिए

# 503

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَأْكُلُونَ أَمْوَٰلَ ٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ ظُلْمًا إِنَّمَا يَأْكُلُونَ فِى بُطُونِهِمْ نَارًۭا ۖ وَسَيَصْلَوْنَ سَعِيرًۭا

Juzz (4): Surah (4): Ayah (10)

Innal lazeena yaakuloona amwaalal yataamaa zulman innamaa yaakuloona fee butoonihim Naaranw-wa sayaslawna sa'eeraa

इन्नल लज़ीना याकूलूना अमवालाल यतामा ज़ुल्मान िन्नमा याकूलूना फी बुटूनिहिं नारंव-व सायसलावना सा'ीरा

Translation

Behold, those who sinfully devour the posses­sions of orphans but fill their bellies with fire: for [in the life to come] they will have to endure a blazing flame!

जो यतीमों के माल नाहक़ चट कर जाया करते हैं वह अपने पेट में बस अंगारे भरते हैं और अनक़रीब जहन्नुम वासिल होंगे
